Posted on May 21st 2010
Only 20 months after it opened, The Swan at Southrop, in the Cotswolds has won The Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year award.Beating off competition from nine other regional winners, the judges praised its impeccable customer service as well as the quality of the food. More than 25,000 diners nominated their favourite independently-owned restaurants, pubs and cafes in this year's hunt for the nation's favourite restaurant, which had the theme 'Who cares, wins'.
Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor of The Good Food Guide, says, 'We've been searching for a culinary gem that goes the extra mile for its customers and The Swan at Southrop exceeded our expectations. As well as the careful sourcing of local raw materials and quality cooking from Sebastian Snow, the friendly service and value for money make it the kind of place we all want at the end of our street.'
The restaurant's owners Sebastian and Lana Snow praised their staff, saying, 'We owe this to the hard work of all our staff, and the loyalty of the customers who have supported us in the 20 months since we first opened.'
